The NearPod App is a very effective tool in the classroom! The teacher directs what students see on their devices. Students can complete tasks, submit responses and solutions to problems! The teacher can then decide to show certain students' work to engage in conversation during a Math Bansho.
Learning Goal: I am learning to combine of fractions using digital manipulatives on the iPad.
Students used the app Number Kiz Pro to combine fractions. Within the app, students are recording their problem solving and use of digital manipulatives, while capturing their math conversations.
After engaging in collaborative problem solving on the iPads with NumberKizPro, students then share their strategies and solutions with the class through Apple TV.
I use the iDoceo assessment app as an authentic documentation tool to capture students' mathematical thinking and communication. Videos/Images are saved in the app, creating a portfolio for formative assessment.
NumberKiz Pro is a math specific app for students to solve problems. They can take pictures, import images, write, draw and record their solutions. The Math Bansho has changed in my classroom from chart paper and markers to iPads and Apple TV!
